Your First Day at Gracie Barra Lake Country

Your First Day at Gracie Barra Lake Country

The first day of Jiu-Jitsu training is a blend of excitement and nerves. You’re eager to dive into the art you’ve chosen, yet a whirlpool of questions might make you feel overwhelmed. Fear not, as the experienced team at Gracie Barra Lake Country Academy has prepared a guide to ensure you feel ready and at ease as you step into this new chapter.

Stepping into GB Lake Country Jiu-Jitsu Academy may seem daunting initially. It’s crucial to remember that you’re not alone in feeling this way. Our community thrives on connection, making your journey a collective endeavour. Welcome aboard! 😊👍

  • Trial Class Attire: A t-shirt is perfectly fine for your first class but can become warm under a Jiu-Jitsu Gi.
  • Preferred Gear: A rash-guard is the ideal choice, thanks to its thinner, more breathable fabric. Most of our students opt for a rash guard for comfort and functionality.
  • For New Students: Don’t worry about gear; we’ll provide a Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu Gi for you to use during your class.

Starting Jiu-Jitsu is an adventure filled with fresh faces, feelings, and rules. The beauty of your first class is the opportunity to learn and execute numerous techniques — all within a fun and supportive environment. 😻

  • Consistency is Key: Students earn one stripe per month, provided they attend a minimum of two classes per week.
  • Path to Advancement: To progress to a new belt, students must have received all necessary stripes and meet the age requirements for the next level.

This structured approach not only makes the information more digestible for newcomers but also adds a touch of excitement and encouragement, reassuring them as they begin their journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra Lake Country.
